Rhythmic Movement

Moving our bodies in rhythmic ways can help release pent up energy. Remember to pay attention to your breathe. If it is helpful, add an element of visualization.

  • Clench and unclench your hands. Squeeze your hands into a fist, hold and release by fully extending your fingers and palms.
  • While standing, rock up onto your toes and back onto your heels.
  • Cross your arms and squeeze your shoulders.
  • Cross you arms and alternatively tap your shoulders.
  • While sitting on the floor, hold your knees close to your body and rock back and forth.
  • Slowly stretch any part of the body that is tense.
